What a GREAT 5 days we had on THE RIVERLAND A GO-GO. We travelled by bus with SEALINK and Coach Captain, Mark Gluis. We stopped at the Waikerie Hotel for a delicious lunch, onto Banrock Station, with a beautiful view over the Wetlands and onto Renmark where our accommodation was at The Renmark Hotel.
On Tuesday, we visited The Loxton Historical Village onto The Pines for lunch, then to the Riverland Wine Centre for a wine tasting.
Wednesday, firstly we tingled the taste buds visiting CHOCOLATES & MORE at Monash followed by a tour around Barmera, then to ROCKY’S MUSIC HALL OF FAME. A tour of Berri with lunch at The Berri Hotel. On the way back to our Renmark, we dropped into Cons Riverland Sunfresh. That night, it was off to the PUB QUIZ NIGHT. Our groups did not fare so well at the quiz but we scooped the pool with winning all four raffle prizes.
On Thursday, due to the wet weather, we unfortunately had to cancel the cruise on The P.S. Industry paddle steamer. Instead, we went to Lock 5, the Customs House, lunch from the Paringa Bakery which was served at The Woolshed Brewery. The Coffee Stout was to die for. As this was the last night, we dined at the Renmark Club overlooking the Murray River. Friday and its home time first stop Karoonda, then onto the Murray Bridge and home. What a fantastic trip. Thanks to Graeme Hall for organising the tour, another fantastic trip.
